Project Help Haiti

I received an email the other evening from Olivia, a nine year old girl I know in St. Louis.  She created a powerpoint presentation and emailed it to a few of her friends.  I was honored to be one of them.  Here is the content:
"My job is to help Haiti.  They need all they can get!  I am trying to save money to help them.  My goal is to raise more than 1,000 dollars in a year or two with the help of my friends and family."  Olivia goes on to state the great need of the orphans at Maison, and she includes a list of supplies needed.  Olivia would like to help provide the supplies by sending money for them to be purchased in Haiti.  Her presentation goes on like this,
How I'm going to do it:
  • I am going to go on an 8 mile walk and I will wear an interesting shirt that represents what I am doing.
  • I will ask people close to me to make a donation.
  • Anyone who makes a donation can sign my shirt and walk with me if they want.
  • My walk will be on October 23, 2010 (if the weather acts up it will be pushed back)
  • If you cannot give me the money in person, you can mail it to me.  I will sign your name on my shirt for you.
I am giving the money to House of the Children of God, through For His Glory.

I asked Olivia if I could post her project on my blog so everyone could read about it.  She said, "Oh my gosh, I would love for you to do that.  It would be so cool!"

So there it is ladies and gentlemen.  Will you help Olivia reach her goal?
Questions can be directed to Olivia's mom, Ann at:  anngravette @ charter . net (you'll need to fix the symbols and spacing.)
