- A group of 3 people was going to spend the day at the orphanage. They were delivering 6 huge bags of baby formula, and just spending time with us. When they arrived, they told me they would be taking videos and pictures to make a video for us and develop a website. This is what their non-profit does for other non-profits. They spend the day interviewing Pierre, Ruth, and me and taking videos and pictures of of the daily happenings at the orphanage. Had I known I would be spending time on camera, I may have actually done my hair, or tried not to sweat so much.
- One of the children went back to live with her birth family. My heart is still breaking over this one, and I don't even want to process or talk about it.
- Our female dog, who received a shot several months ago to prevent pregnancy, birthed puppies. I watched #5 and #6 actually be born. I much prefer to watch a human birth, I decided. I want our money back from that shot, because by the end of the day, she had 10 puppies. Yes, 10.
- Ruth and I waged war against a lizard who attempted to take up residence in our apartment. He was either sufficiently traumatized by the screaming and show throwing or the bug spray she used may have actually killed him. Either way, we didn't see him anymore last night.
- I had my first cheeseburger since being back in Haiti.
This week my dearest friend Erin is coming to do a VBS with the kids. I'm so excited to see her I can hardly stand it. I'm doing my grocery run today to stock up so I can make tasty meals while she's here. So excited to play hostess again!
