Helping a Friend
hello friends and family! things are going well here. the 2nd team left yesterday, and this week we have adoptive parents visiting their children. it'll be pretty low key, which is good b/c the last team's parting gift was a gross germ that is trying to invade my sinuses and chest. to that, i say NO! so i am resting and emailing while the internet is working.this week i have a request. a wonderful young man, Steven, was raised at the orphanage. he was not able to be adopted by his parents in the US b/c he aged out of the process before the adoption was completed. he attended an american high school, and now teaches at the orphanage and another local christian school. He turned 20 this past Sunday, and he is truly an amazing, godly young man who desires to serve children in Haiti by becomming a doctor. He is extremely intelligent and motivated, and i would like to help him in any way i can. i know someone out there can help him to attend a university in the US to get his medical degree. before he can get a student visa for the US, he has to have a scholarship lined up either through a university or private individual. I am trying to help him make connections with universities that would have a medical degree. I know in St Louis we have Washington University and SLU, which are both excellent schools. I do not have connections in those places. Can anyone out there help with this? I am in prayer and I know God has a plan for Steven that reaches far beyond anything we can think to ask. I know that God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in Steven. My internet has not been super great lately, but if you have connections or want to help Steven in some way, please please please let me know.
