I'm learning to expect God to do great things. Not just kinda expect it, but really expect it. Yet when something totally amazing happens, I'm in such complete awe and amazement!!!!! It's like He sits there and waits for me to be totally not expecting something, and then 'Blam-O!' out of nowhere comes God with the one-two punch of awesomeness!
My friend Brooke told me I need to keep an altar of remembrance, so for now, this will have to be a piece of it.
Last year in April, I got my taxes done by someone. Long story short, he miscalculated my quarterly tax payments so that I had significantly underpaid for an entire year. All the while, I had been stashing money for when I would be doing mission work...a little cushion to pay the bills while no money was coming in.
On April 14 in the evening, I got the tax forms back from tax man, only to find that I owed most of what I had been saving. Yes, MOST of it. Bye bye cushion.
So I tearfully wrote the check to the IRS, and said goodbye to the comfort of having "extra" to rely on.
In the last year, I have never wanted for anything, or gone without. While on the mission field this summer, I gave away my cash, and wound up with a little bit of credit card debt (bad, I know...)
I didn't stress about it, but have just been paying it off, little by little.
So today I sat down to do my taxes...no procrastinating for me this year! And found out that if you qualify, there are free online programs to use. I qualified, and used TurboTax. By the time it was all said and done, I am receiving a refund for slightly more than what I wrote a check for last year. Slightly by a few dollars, slightly.
Holy mackerel! I am without words to express the coolness of this! Coolness isn't even an accurate description for this one, but it'll have to do for now.
Praise God, from whom ALL blessings flow!!!!!!!
