I'm pretty good at change. I'm really good at getting ready for change. But when it comes time to do the packing part for the change, I shut down. So today I will blog. :)
Tuesday, May 11 is the day I leave for Haiti. I will be serving full time as a missionary at an orphanage in Port au Prince. I am excited, unsure, slightly anxious, but really ready to get started. The process of leaving is hard. I've had to decide what I need for the next 3ish months. Do you know how much contact solution you use in that amount of time? How much deodorant do I need? Soap? Toothpaste? All things I've never taken the time to figure out how long they last. So this will be a good experiment. In August, I will be able to answer all those questions (and more!)
Seriously though, the getting ready is hardest when I spend time with people I love. It's like I want to store up every single second, every single laugh and hug and kiss, and somehow put them in a jar and save them and take them out as needed. Kinda like the chocolate stash I take with me. Major rationing is all I can say.
This post is jumping all over the place...so I'm going to be done for now.
Stay tuned...this is where you'll be able to read about my summer/life adventures!
